Artist: Ethan Stuart

Details: Acrylic on Canvas

Size: 16″ x 20″

Year: 2020

About: These frog paintings are coming from an old tale of my mom having to shoot the frogs around the pond on her childhood homes property. There was a reason for it , she was told, to keep the population down or to make it more bearable to swim in. I’ve been working with family history and memories for a few years now, but when I went to address this story I decided to alter it and let the frogs live, and have their pond back. This particular piece features a frog who died of natural causes, as an old frog making his last transformation.
